Life sure gets busy some days…weeks…months! I keep thinking that things will slow down but who am I kidding? My life has always been full to bursting with fun, adventures, events, activities, and all that goes into living a colorful life!
That said I am learning to prioritize regularly to keep my life from feeling like I’m spinning out of control. Some days I’m better at it then others. The key, for me, is to just keep trying.
I’m learning the warning signs of overwhelm for me- irritability, spacey-ness, frustration, inability to focus, losing things, little things feel monumental, not accomplishing tasks.
I’m learning that when I begin to feel any of these it’s time to regroup and prioritize again.
I’m learning to breath into it all.
I’m learning to go with the flow.
Now that I’ve come this far in the process I’m also beginning to learn to ask for what I need and want BEFORE I begin to feel the signs. Preventative measures. Which is not coming easy! Baby steps will get me there.
For me I like to journal and make lists. I’m also beginning to art journal, which I’m finding a fascinating way to work through different life challenges and joys. And running. Actually training for a big race. This is quickly becoming a key way to help me manage the overwhelm in my life.
