It’s been awhile since I’ve done a challenge on my blog. I’ve been trying to figure out a good one that went along with goals I already have. One that wouldn’t take up too much extra time, but was still, well, a challenge! Not surprisingly my friend Debra, from Wild Woman Writer, turned me on to the One Hundred Faces challenge on Facebook by Sharon Tomlinson. Debra is my amazingly creative friend who travels through life one adventure at at time…and often takes me along with her! Whenever we’re together art shenanigans are sure to happen! But that’s another post for another day!
Back to the One Hundred Faces challenge. This is one that I have chosen to not to put a date on. While it is set up as one face painted per day, I will just be doing them as I can.
I’m new drawing and painting faces so for me this is a fun way to encourage me to practice. I’m currently doing them on random sizes and types of paper and journals, but I may begin a journal just for this journey.
Not sure yet, but you’ll be the first to know if I do something other than hodge podge random.
For me the faces can be drawn, collaged, painted, or any other form I decide to try.
It’s all about showing up.
I’m working to continue honing my ability to create faces while doing art daily. I will be trying for one a day, but am not going to hold myself to that. Life is busy, especially when you’re a ping pong ball of creative ideas.
I’m also committing to post all my pictures on the Facebook group. I’m working on opening myself up more to life through sharing my art. My own personal journey of healing in my own way, which you can read a little bit more about here. This is not a requirement for anyone else who wants to do this challenge with me.
So without further ado, here’s my first face- #1/100. She was done with a graphite pencil on acrylic painted background in my cosmic smash book that I made in Life Book 2014. This is one of the first faces I’ve done without using a tutorial.
So there you have it, a new challenge! Who wants to join me? One Hundred Faces or maybe you have a different One Hundred that you’d like to do? I’d love to hear what you’re going to do…let’s support each other!
