No big surprise- I like a good challenge. And I like a specific challenge. My last one, 30 Blog Posts in 30 Days was a great success for me. While I didn’t reach my goal, I did do a lot more blogging during that time and learned so much about the technical side of blogging. Much more than had I just been writing whenever.
So now I find myself ready to do another challenge that I’ve seen floating around Pinterest- 40 Bags in 40 Days. I don’t know the origin of this challenge, I’ve seen it on numerous blogs and pins. The gist of it is to get rid of clutter, garbage, and to clean your house. At least that’s my interpretation of it. There are pre-made lists and pre-made printables to make your own lists, but I chose to keep it simple and made a list on my computer- easy peasy! Sometimes I get caught up in insignificant details that derail me from the task at hand or keep me from doing more important things. Down and dirty, quick and easy was the way to go with this list!
You’ll notice I’m giving myself more than 40 days to finish it- life happens, it’s summertime, the beach and camping call my name. I decided my 40 days did not need to be consecutive, but still wanted to keep them within a short parameter of time. I’ve also broken my list into segments that I think I can do in under 30 minutes. I want to keep motivated and make this a habit. If it’s going to take more than 30 minutes a day I’ll quit. I like a good challenge, but I also know my limits! And my big picture goes beyond the 40 day challenge with learning to keep my house clutter free going forward.
If you choose to join me in the challenge make it your own too! Decide what you’re really wanting to accomplish with this challenge and then tailor it to your needs. I’ve seen people do it as a 7 day, 30 day, 40 day, and 90 day challenge. Go for what makes the most sense for you! And comment here, let us know how you’re doing with it! What’s working for you, what’s not! We can inspire each other in our efforts!
Without further ado here’s my list.
